The Packers president commented on Tuesday’s trade deadline
The Green Bay Packers would be interesting buyers before the trade deadline Tuesday. After a slow start to the season, the Packers have a 3-5 record. With the team having low cap space over the next few years, a major trade this season would be a high-risk move for a Super Bowl run this year. It’s hard to tell if one addition at wide receiver or on the offensive line would make much difference on a shorthanded roster. The Packers president is indeed mulling this over today following the team’s loss on Sunday Night Football.
Before the game Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, Packers president Mark Murphy met with a fan. The fan asked Murphy if the team would trade for a wide receiver this season.
“You’ll have it by Tuesday,” Murphy said as he walked away from the fan.
You might not hear it but that’s me talking to Murphy. I told him plz trade for a WR. What did he say? No bullshit in his exact words he said:
“By Tuesday”. I’m not joking. Let’s see if he’s serious. pic.twitter.com/Y2XhzVYE2H

That sounded like a yes. But we’ll see.
Things might have changed since Sunday night
The Packers needed a win last night to get to an even record. The team played well but could not find a way to score enough points on one of the best teams in the AFC. However, the Packers’ offense did some good things runnings the ball. The way they played last night would be good enough to beat several teams left on their schedule. The Packers still have four teams remaining on their schedule with a losing record.
Even still, it would still be a risky move to make a trade on Tuesday after the loss. The Packers can still potentially address needs with a free-agency addition.
