Milwaukee Bucks veteran Patrick Beverley has been watching the postseason intently. This is exactly why he’s had quite a lot to say about Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic, who has been nothing short of outstanding this year.
Thanks to Luka’s heroics, the Mavs are back in the NBA Finals after 13 long years — and Pat Bev has definitely taken notice.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Patrick Beverley’s Hot Take on Luka Doncic

In a recent episode of his podcast, Beverley had former Bucks guard Greg Anthony as his guest. One of the topics of their conversation centered around Doncic and the great things he’s been doing in the postseason thus far. This led to a highly contentious take from Beverley about Luka standing above the rest of the pack over the past few seasons:
“He might be the best player in the last three or four playoffs,” Beverley said.

Let’s have a brief lesson in recent NBA history, shall we? Over the past four seasons, the teams that have lifted the Larry O’Brien trophy are the Bucks (2021), the Golden State Warriors (2022), and the Denver Nuggets (2023).
Based on Pat Bev’s statement here, Doncic has outplayed the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, and Nikola Jokic, to name a few, in the postseason over the past four years — and those are just the best players on the teams that won the title.
Then again, you can’t really completely discredit Beverley for his bold statement here. After all, he’s had the chance to go up against Doncic many times in the past, so he is speaking from experience here.
