Milwaukee Bucks superstar Damian Lillard had another forgettable evening on Tuesday against the Sacramento Kings. The eight-time All-Star finished with just 10 points on 2-of-12 shooting as he watched his team get completely blown out by their opponents en route to a 129-94 loss for Milwaukee.
You could say the same thing about the rest of the Bucks, save for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who logged a 30-point, 13-rebound double-double in the defeat. Pretty much everyone else on the Bucks, however, just didn’t show up against the Kings.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard Reacts to Brutal Loss
Lillard spoke to reporters after suffering one of their biggest defeats of the season. Dame pointed to a number of areas that went wrong for the Bucks on the evening as he tried to find some logic behind his team’s deplorable all-around effort:
“A couple things we just weren’t sharp enough so they got of to a good start,” Lillard said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We also knew that to kind of take them out of transition and being ablet to play with that pace that they play with we had to play good offense and execute so they weren’t just getting it off the rim, pushing it at us and our defense was kind of off balance. We just didn’t play good offense either. The ball didn’t move. We didn’t do the things that we’ve been doing when we’ve played well for reach other, the extra passes, the screening, our execution where we’re just kind of leaning on each other. We weren’t good at that on either end of the floor.”
Basically, just nothing went right for Milwaukee on Tuesday night.
The Bucks, who now head back home after going 1-3 in their recent Western Conference road trip, will need to be much better when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday. It’s not exactly a must-win game for them, but a victory will go a long way in terms of restoring some much-needed pride to a beaten-up side.
