The Milwaukee Brewers are currently on a four-game winning streak after Sunday’s win over the Chicago White Sox, 7-3.
This three-game sweep over the Southsiders marks the first time since 1986 that the Brewers swept the Sox.
Game 1: Brewers Win 7-6 in Extras
Milwaukee was able to get on the board early in Friday’s contest when William Contreras singled to left to score Christian Yelich. It wouldn’t take long for the White Sox to respond when Yoan Moncada hit a single to score Andrew Benintendi, and Yasmani Grandal hit a sac fly to bring Eloy Jimenez home, giving them a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first.
It was a back and forth game until the Brewers took a 6-5 lead going into the sixth inning. Chicago would then tie the game again when Andrew Vaughn grounded out to second and Jimenez was able to score.
The game went into extras tied at 6-6, and the superhero of the game was Mark Canha. Canha came into pinch hit and doubled to left field to allow Brice Turang to score. Fastball pitcher Abner Uribe was on the mound to finish up the job, securing his first save of his major league career.
Game 2: Brewers Win 3-2
Brandon Woodruff was on the mound for the crew, marking his second start since returning from the IL. Woodruff pitched 6 1/3 innings, only allowing two runs on four hits.
The Brewers would rally late in the game. The seventh inning kicked off with Canha walking and Andruw Monasterio singled to then put two runners on base. After Brice Turang flew out, Tyrone Taylor came in clutch with a two-RBI double, tying the game at 2 a piece. Contreras singled to score Taylor, bringing the Brewers lead to 3-2.

Game 3: Brewers Win 7-3
Freddy Peralta was on the mound for Milwaukee to finish off the series and end it with a sweep. Peralta would go to pitch 6 innings, allowing four hits, no runs and struck out six.
The Brewers would strike first when Mark Canha hit a sac fly to score Sal Frelick. They weren’t able to score anymore in the second inning, but responded in the fifth with an Andruw Monasterio double, allowing Willy Adames to score and bring the lead to 2-0.
In the top of the eighth inning after going 0-2 on the day, Carlos Santana answered in true “Slamtana” fashion, crushing a three-run bomb to right center field, bringing the Brewers’ lead to 5-0.
Christian Yelich continued his hot streak with a single in the top of the ninth inning, scoring two runners and bringing the Brewers’ lead to 7-0. J.C. Mejia came on in the bottom of the ninth for Milwaukee and allowed three runs. However, the Brewers stayed on top, winning the game 7-3 and secured the sweep over the Chicago White Sox.
