The Milwaukee Brewers swept the Texas Rangers in three games over the weekend. Prior to that they had been swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but also had swept the Chicago White Sox to kick off their three city road trip. Analysts around the league noticed what the Brew Crew did over the weekend and it generated some buzz.
The Milwaukee Brewers sweep of the Texas Rangers created some national buzz around the Brew Crew.
A few different media outlets discussed the Brewers sweep over the Rangers. One popular podcast, Talkin Baseball, had some interesting takes on the series. In the show hosts Jake Storiale and Trevor Plouffe broke down the games.
Trevor Plouffe talked about how he was shocked that Milwaukee swept the Rangers at home, Sal Frelick’s incredible game ending catch, and also talked about their formula to winning ball games.
The first game ended Seager (Corey) off of (Devin) Williams, and our boy Sal Frelick goes out there and makes the catch. That changes a lot of things if he doesn’t get the ball.
Run prevention, lets go play banger defense and pitch, and get some timely hits. They (Brewers) are kind of constructed differently.
Jake Storiale thinks the Brewers are starting to hit their groove and loves what the kids are doing.
The Brewers, they had a mid-season lull and it feels like the engine is starting to click a little more…. the kids are grown up a little bit more. It’s big boy ball (to sweep the Rangers in Texas)
Another baseball outlet that discussed the Brewers and Rangers series was MLB Network. They put together a special segment in which they compared Milwaukee’s 2023 hitters to Harvey’s Wallbanger’s from 1982.
