There’s no question Bobby Portis loves to compete and leave it all on the court. But after the Milwaukee Bucks got eliminated early by the Indiana Pacers, the big man bared his true feelings on watching the NBA playoffs from home.
After swapping Jrue Holiday’s defense for the offense Damian Lillard brought, the Bucks were expected to dominate the league. Rightfully so, because the All-Star guard’s pairing with two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo gave Milwaukee a deadly duo who can score from anywhere on the court at will.
But after spending a huge chunk of the season adjusting, a coaching change that saw Adrian Griffin terminated, and key injuries to the franchise’s two stars, the Bucks didn’t finish the regular season with either the first or second seed in the Eastern Conference. As a result, they ended up facing an Indiana Pacers team led by Tyrese Haliburton in the first round.
During that series, the Bucks shot worse than Indy from the field, committed more turnovers, and grabbed less offensive rebounds. It also didn’t help that both Antetokounmpo and Lillard missed time due to their respective injuries. As a result, the team found itself exiting the postseason earlier than anticipated.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Bobby Portis Shares Thoughts On Watching NBA Playoffs From Home
With the team sent home in six games, some of its players will have to start their offseason now while other teams in the league are still competing. Bobby Portis shared his thoughts on the matter in a tweet he posted on his official X account:
“MISS YOU GAME,” Portis Tweeted.
The power forward was instrumental in keeping his team alive, especially when the Greek Freak missed the entire first round due to a calf injury. In those six games, Portis averaged 16.5 points on 48 percent shooting from the field and11.3 rebounds.
It’s going to be a long wait for Portis before he steps on the court again to play the game. Fortunately, he’s signed with the Bucks for two more seasons after their early exit this year.
