After six years in the big leagues wearing Milwaukee Brewers threads, Corbin Burnes is starting a new chapter in his baseball career. Burnes will now be pitching for the Baltimore Orioles following a huge trade that went down between the two ball clubs on Thursday. When Major League Baseball posted the report of the trade on one of their social media channels, Burnes responded interestingly.

Whatever Burnes meant with that simple eyes emoji reaction, his future just got at least a bit more intriguing. This will be the first time he will be pitching in the majors for a club other than the Brewers, who took him in the fourth round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
The consensus is that Burnes will just be fine in Baltimore. After all, he has proven every year that he is one of the best pitchers in the big leagues. He has been an All-Star in each of the last three seasons and a top-eight Cy Young Award finisher in each of the last four campaigns. In 2021 he won the Cy Young Award in the National League after going 11-5 with a 2.43 ERA across 28 starts.
The Milwaukee Brewers felt they needed to part ways with Burnes with the pitcher on track to be a free agent at the end of the 2024 MLB season. He agreed to and signed a one-year deal worth $15.637 million with the Brewers to avoid arbitration back in January.
