The Milwaukee Brewers have waited all off-season for the right trade package for Corbin Burnes to arrive. It appears that Matt Arnold found a deal that he could not resist as he traded his former Cy Young award winner to the Baltimore Orioles for left-handed pitcher DL Hall, infielder Joey Ortiz, and the 34th draft pick in the 2024 MLB draft (Competitive Balance Round-A). This deal was executed one day after Baltimore gained new ownership.
A trade of this magnitude always draws mixed reactions from each fan base. Here are some of the takes that fans had on the deal.

This seems way light and a fleecing by the Orioles. Crew could have held out till deadline and gotten more from a team and bidding war. No Mayo, Basallo or Cowser. Come on now.

Well I like this deal for O’s but also the Brewers are getting a top fielding ss and a pitcher who could slot into their rotation for the next 4-5 yrs! I thought Hall figured it out last yr and should he not be a starter, a back end of bullpen! Go Birds 24!

Brewers did NOT get fleeced. Burned was gone after this year anyway. Glad we got something for him. As a brewers fan I’m happy. I feel like the crew is still going to work on a few other acquisitions they have up their sleeve….

The 97th and 99th MLB top prospects, and the 34th overall pick in this year’s draft for Burnes. Not sure why many people are calling it a “fleeced job” by Orioles.
