The Milwaukee Brewers currently have a few players nursing injuries, but are not on the injured list. Mark Canha is dealing with a wrist issue in which he received a cortisone injection as treatment and is expected to start swinging a bat again on Friday. Christian Yelich last appeared in a game one week ago and has been out due to back stiffness. His targeted return date is the series opener against the Washington Nationals.

Milwaukee Brewers Christian Yelich is expected to return against the Washington Nationals.
Two separate beat reporters in Curt Hogg Adam McCalvy have indicated that Christian Yelich’s target return date is Friday’s series opener against the Washington Nationals. This is not a guarantee that he will be in the lineup but on an encouraging front he reportedly was available off the bench as a pinch hitter the past few games against the Miami Marlins. While he did not make an appearance against the Marlins he did go through pregame running and hitting drills.

When Christian Yelich does return he will be looking to snap out of a funk. The former MVP has had a resurgence year, but since August 30 he has just a .138 batting average. Hopefully coming back at full strength will help him get going again at the plate and ready for the home stretch of the season.
