The Milwaukee Brewers currently have both Christian Yelich and Mark Canha on the mend from injuries. For Christian Yelich a familiar issue of back soreness has kept him out of game action since Friday, September 8. On the other hand Mark Canha left Tuesday night’s game against the Miami Marlins early with wrist discomfort. The team has now provided two positive updates on both of their injuries.
Two positive injury updates on Milwaukee Brewers players Christian Yelich and Mark Canha.
Starting with Christian Yelich manager Craig Counsell indicated that he will go through another pregame of running and hitting. He also did not rule out the possibility of using him as a pinch hitter in tonight’s game against the Marlins.
As for Mark Canha he indicated last night that he has dealt with issues in his wrist in the past and that he typically bounces back quickly and responds well to cortisone injections. Today the Brewers did a MRI that showed no structural damage and he did receive a cortisone shot. The plan is to let that work for a few days before picking up a bat again on Friday.
Overall this is very positive news. Christian Yelich could be available tonight if needed and Mark Canha will start swinging again in a few days. Hopefully they both continue on this upward trajectory in their individual recoveries.
