Jordan Love was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.  At the time, Aaron Rodgers was still under contract for the foreseeable future, so this decision came with a lot of scrutiny.

The next two years saw Rodgers win back-to-back MVP awards (some believe it was motivation because of that draft pick).  However, following the 2022 season it was time for both sides to go their separate ways.  Love had the opportunity to prove to Packers fans and the rest of the NFL that taking him early was not a mistake.

The 2023 season ended with Love passing for more than 4,000 yards, more 30 passing touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.  The Packers fell three points shy of appearing in the NFC Championship game as well.  Going into next season, Jordan Love is clearly a leader and someone the team looks up to. That’s why when he made a statement about star cornerback Jaire Alexander, fans noticed.

Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Makes Statement About Star Cornerback Jaire Alexander

Jaire Alexander has certainly make it known that he has an outgoing personality.  From his interviews to celebrations on the field to dropping in on a local news reporter, Alexander is one of a kind.

When Jordan Love was asked “what is wrong with Jaire Alexander, he had this to say:

“Everybody on the team loves @JaireAlexander” https://t.co/6x3q3Uhw6k pic.twitter.com/D6QDLbXPbD

    — Aaron Nagler (@AaronNagler) March 22, 2024

The sixth campaign of Alexander’s NFL career was limited by injuries and a suspension, but he still managed to record 27 tackles.

Currently signed through 2026, the two-time All-Pro received an $8 million roster bonus by being on the team on March 20th.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that bonus was a “trigger point” in the Packers’ decision to keep or trade Alexander.

This season, Alexander was sidelined for three games with a back injury, six with a shoulder injury and one due to a suspension following his decision to appoint himself a team captain prior to a Dec. 24 coin toss against the the Carolina Panthers.

No matter your personal opinion of Jaire, it appears the Packers and the players love having him on their team and that isn’t changing any time soon.
