Jordan Love made all sorts of headlines on Sunday after his show-stopping performance in the Green Bay Packers’ 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The young quarterback had one of his most memorable outings for Green Bay as he led his team to a much-needed victory against a now 4-6 Chargers side.
Love did not do it all on his own on Sunday night, though.
Jordan Love Spills on Christian Watson’s Curical TD for Green Bay Packers
Love scored two touchdowns against the Charges in what turned out to be his first-ever 300-yard game. His first of the evening came on an 11-yard TD pass to wide receiver Christian Watson — a score that allowed Green Bay to take a 16-13 lead right at the end of the third period.

After the game, Love revealed that the crucial TD was actually brought about by Matt LaFleur’s quick thinking on the fly. As it turns out, the Packers coach just drew up the play for Watson on the sidelines during the game:
“That touchdown was actually on a play that I think Matt [LaFleur] drew up on the sideline after seeing a look that we had previously, something that wasn’t even really in the game plan,” said Love, via Freddie Boston of Lombardi Ave. “Kudos to Christian for going out and executing it to perfection.”
For his part, LaFleur was quick to deflect the credit. According to the Green Bay shot-caller, it was tight ends coach John Dunn who was the mastermind behind the masterful play:
“I’ve got to give John Dunn all the credit in the world for that,” said LaFleur. “There was a play earlier in that drive. You always look at the pictures, and we saw something there. He suggested a play, and we called it and hit the coverage. Those guys went out there and executed.”
Thanks to that touchdown, the Packers entered the fourth and final quarter with momentum on their side. They would go on to secure the victory from there.
