The Green Bay Packers entered Saturday night with a burning hope to get past the San Francisco 49ers and advance to the NFC championship. However, that hope turned into a brutal loss for the Packers, ending the team’s playoff campaign in the process.
As ESPN analyst Rob Gronkowski noticed about Green Bay, the team played well for the first 58 minutes and dropped the ball in the final two. From there, a missed kick by Anders Carlson and a wild pass by Jordan Love sealed the team’s loss to the 49ers.

Even if that loss meant an end to the Packers’ impressive run this season, there’s still hope for next year, especially if the front office does its job of surrounding Love with better talent over the summer.
Jonathan Owens Sounds Off on Green Bay Packers’ Brutal Loss to San Francisco 49ers
For his part, Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens gave his honest take on what happened after their loss to San Francisco.
“You’re not going to keep a team from doing anything the whole game. It’s just all going back and forth, going toe-to-toe with guys. It’s an NFL game. Fans love to watch ’em but these are the ones that hurt the most to lose, the close ones. Just gotta go into the offseason and remember this feeling,” Owens said.
Owen’s opinions go along with head coach Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love’s assessment of the loss and what fans can expect from the team moving forward. For sure, the Packers will build on this moment to become better for next season.
