Green Bay Packers GM Gets 100% Real on Jordan Love’s Upside After Breakout 2023 Season

Even though the Green Bay Packers’ season ended in a heartbreak, the outlook for the future has never looked brighter. At the forefront of the franchise’s resurgence is no other than its star quarterback, Jordan Love.

After Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets, there was an expectation for the team to flounder in the NFL. Instead of sinking, though, the Packers rose up to the challenge and surprised everybody.

With the league’s youngest roster at his fingertips, Love stepped up and took the Packers all the way to the playoffs. Using his excellent ability to command Green Bay’s offense, the team found itself one way away from advancing to the NFC championship.

And that could have happened if the Packers maintained their foot on the gas against the San Francisco 49ers. But due to costly mistakes, one of which was committed by Love, Green Bay exited the playoffs, and their season ended.

Nevertheless, the Packers find themselves in a better situation than they were a year ago. With Love as the franchise’s foundational piece, sky is definitely the limit for Green Bay.

Sharing that perspective is no other than Brian Gutekunst, the Packers’ general manager. Speaking before the media to wrap up the team’s season, he shares what he thinks of Love’s breakout season and what’s in store for him in the future.

“He’s got so much more in front of him. As good as he played at times this year, there’s a very, very high upside. I‘ve always talked about how there’s usually a progression there where you go from playing, to playing well, to winning. He did that in pretty short order in Season 1. Very excited where he can go,” Gutekunst said.

With youth on Love’s side, the Packers have a lot of time to get better since their franchise player is just 25 years old. Plus, the team has a number of picks in the upcoming draft or the ability to sign proven free agents to help Green Bay get over the hump.

In any case, Love is shaping up to be a quarterback capable of driving the Packers straight to the Super Bowl. With his breakout season in 2023 as the primary proof, there’s a lot of reason to be optimistic about Green Bay’s future in the NFL.
