The Green Bay Packers have been busy making roster moves during the first two days of OTAs, and they announced another cut on Tuesday. The Packers signed a college record-breaking wide receiver, who had spent time with the Washington Commanders, to their 90-man roster Tuesday. The Packers needed to release a player to make room for the signing.

According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Packers released tight end Nick Guggemos.

The Packers signed Guggemos on January 10th to a reserve/futures contract. Guggemos was signed to the Packers practice squad last November. It’s a surprise cut for the Packers this early in OTAs, given how inexperienced they are at tight end this offseason.

The Packers’ rookie tight end duo of Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave are expected to start this fall. With Marcedes Lewis not returning this year, the Packers need to find some solid depth in that position.
