The Indiana Pacers will look to close out their playoff series with the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 6 on Thursday, though they are facing some health issues heading to the contest. Superstar point guard Tyrese Haliburton is dealing with an injury, putting his status for the battle in question.
Haliburton landed on the Pacers’ injury report along with Bennedict Mathurin, who has already been ruled out for the season.
Tyrese Haliburton’s Injury Status for Indiana Pacers vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Haliburton has been listed as questionable for Game 6 due to low back spasms. While there is still the possibility that Haliburton plays–and that’s the more likely scenario considering the situation they are in–the fact that he’s questionable indicates that his injury is bothersome.
Even if Haliburton plays, he could end up being limited or bothered because of his health setback. The All-Star point guard didn’t have the best of performances in Game 5 where he was outplayed by Patrick Beverley despite leading the Pacers with 16 points and six assists. Sure enough, an injury would only slow him down and affect his play further.
Of course the Pacers are still a hard team to beat, especially with the high-octane offense that they boast. It shouldn’t be forgotten that they also have Pascal Siakam, and the veteran forward is more than capable of carrying the team when needed.
The Pacers will hope that Haliburton can play and won’t be limited in any way. They really need his playmaking to close the series out and prevent the Bucks from forcing a Game 7. But if head coach Rick Carlisle has to sit him or even monitor his minutes, Andrew Nembhard and TJ McConnell will be tasked to pick up the slack at the point guard spot.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Injury Situation
While Indiana Pacers fans might think they have it bad with the Tyrese Haliburton injury update, no team has had it worst than the Milwaukee Bucks.
Heading to Game 6, both of their superstars in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard have been listed as doubtful due to their respective injuries. Giannis is still dealing with his calf issue and has yet to make an appearance in the 2024 postseason.
On the other hand, Lillard is dealing with an Achilles issue that he sustained during Game 3 of the series.
Not to mention that Khris Middleton and Patrick Beverley also popped up on the injury report for Game 6 with ailments, albeit minor, of their own.
It remains to be seen how the Bucks will navigate through the injury woes. But it’s worth noting that they won Game 5 even without Antetokounmpo and Lillard.
