Times are changing for the Wisconsin Badgers. Upon hiring Luke Fickell in December 2022, the recruiting game has been on a level that we haven’t seen in years. The Badgers’ recruiting efforts are getting noticed on the national stage, too. Strictly talking transfer portal, the Badgers hold one of the best classes in the entire nation for 2023.

- Five-star kicker Nathaniel Vakos – Ohio
- Four-star quarterback Nick Evers – Oklahoma
- Four-star quarterback Tanner Mordecai – SMU
- Four-star wide receiver CJ Williams – USC
- Three-star quarterback Braedyn Locke – Mississippi State
- Three-star wide receiver Bryson Green – Oklahoma State
- Three-star wide receiver Quincy Burroughs – Cincinnati
- Three-star wide receiver Jason Maitre – Boston College
- Three-star wide receiver Will Pauling – Cincinnati
- Three-star defensive end Jeff Pietrowski – Michigan State
- Three-star defensive end Darian Varner – Temple
- Three-star offensive lineman Jake Renfro – Cincinnati
- Walk-on offensive lineman Joe Huber – Cincinnati
The Wisconsin Badgers have addressed offense and defense via the transfer portal going into 2023. More so, they’ve addressed the quarterback position. Something that many feel has been neglected since Russell Wilson was in a Badgers uniform in the early 2010s. A true weapon at quarterback has felt like the missing piece for a long time. The Wisconsin Badgers have had elite defenses, running games, and offensive line play for decades. That sounds like a quarterback’s dream scenario.
Another piece to the puzzle has been threats at the wide receiver position. The Badgers have added serious weapons for the 2023 season. One four-star and four three-star wide receivers have joined the Badgers since Luke Fickell was named the head coach. Times are changing in Madison and the excitement is certainly in the air.
