The Wisconsin Badgers and Luke Fickell are staying hot in the transfer portal. Yet another recruit has announced his commitment via Twitter to Wisconsin as the team begins to round out. Former Cincinnati wide receiver Quincy Burroughs has announced his intentions to transfer to Wisconsin, following much consideration. He will join fellow Cincinnati wide receiver transfer Will Pauling.

Quincy Burroughs is a former three-star recruit who sat out his Freshman year at Cincinnati. He had been tied to Wisconsin for awhile now, following a visit to Madison accompanied by Will Pauling. After Pauling announced his commitment to Wisconsin, it seemed like a matter of time before Burroughs joined.
Burroughs marks the 11th transfer portal addition the Badgers have made for 2023. While his addition is amazing, it also may not be the last. Coach Fickell and Coach Longo both expressed interest in building competitive environments inside of Wisconsin football. That starts with competition at each position. At quarterback, the Badgers have added Tanner Mordecai, Nick Evers, Braedyn Locke, and 2024 recruit Mabrey Mettauer.
Many position rooms received an influx of talent to help develop the future. For all of the transfers, coming to Wisconsin represents a new chapter of change. The intention of bringing in these players is not to increase wins and trophies. Rather, Fickell and company are looking farther into the future by developing a long-lasting program of stability and success. The creation of a more competitive environment will produce more competitive players.
Burroughs continues the train of Cincinnati players leaving the program. Burroughs, Jake Renfro, Joe Huber, and Will Pauling all followed Luke Fickell to Madison. The future Badgers can develop a core of key players on offense alongside athletic freaks like Braelon Allen. A team cannot be built over night or purely through transfer, but the new talent makes the future look bright for the Badgers.
