The Wisconsin Badgers landed a big-time center
The Wisconsin Badgers got another huge commitment on Sunday night. The Badgers are still working hard to bring in a good recruiting class for the 2023 season. Many players connected to Cincinnati are choosing the Badgers after Luke Fickell took the head coaching job in Madison. The Badgers will have a former Cincinnati center on the roster next season.
According to Jake Renfro’s Twitter account, the Junior offensive lineman has committed to the Badgers from the transfer portal.

Renfro was a popular target in this cycle’s transfer portal. According to multiple reports, Renfro was considering transferring to LSU to play under another former Bearcats coach, Brian Kelly. He visited Baton Rouge recently. Renfro ultimately decided to stay in Fickell’s system.
According to Renfro’s bio on gobearcats.com, Renfro played seven games as a freshman. He then made 13 starts in 2021:
Made 13 starts in 2021 and has 19 starts in two seasons…Top center in the AAC; named to the All-AAC First Team…Anchor of on an offensive line that paved the way for UC’s offense to average the ninth-most yards per play (6.71) in the country…UC finished second in the AAC in yards per rush (5.2)…The offensive line gave up only 53 tackles for loss all season long, which was the seventh-fewest in the nation…Cincinnati set single-season school records for touchdowns (70) and points (516)…The Bearcats averaged 36.9 ppg to rank No. 2 in the AAC and No. 11 nationally.
Renfro did not play during the 2022 season. He sustained a knee injury in practice before the regular season started.
This is a big get for the Wisconsin Badgers as they continue to add to their new-look offense.
