Joe Huber took an official visit to The University Of Wisconsin on January 4th. Just two days later he announced his commitment to the program. A redshirt sophomore and former walk-on, Huber earned a scholarship ahead of the 2022 season and started at right tackle. He has already played in 20 games during his collegiate career. Joe Huber stands 6’5″ and 311 pounds.
In 2022, Huber earned a stellar Pro Football Focus Grade of 80.6, including an 83.7 run blocking grade. That led him to being named honorable mention All-AAC. In 471 pass blocking snaps, Huber allowed four sacks. The Badgers will be returning five players who started games along their offensive line. Those players include left tackle Jack Nelson, right tackle Riley Mahlman, right guard Michael Furtney, guard/tackleTrey Wedig, and center/guard Tanor Bortolini. Per sources 24/7 Sports, Huber will be a swing guy for UW, able to play either guard or tackle.
Five Players Added Via Transfer Portal
Joe Huber makes the fifth addition via transfer portal for the Badgers this off-season. Here is the complete list:
- Quarterback Nick Evers (Oklahoma)
- Defensive End Darian Varner (Temple)
- Quarterback Tanner Mordecai (SMU)
- Defensive Back Jason Maitre (Boston College)
- Offensive Lineman Joe Huber (Cincinatti)
With four of Wisconsin’s five starters already returning along the offensive line, Huber could act as the team’s sixth offensive line. This is something they have used in several packages this past season.
