The Green Bay Packers will not tender backup QB Tim Boyle as a restricted free agent, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. With the tender, Boyle will become an unrestricted free agent when the league year begins on March 17.  Boyle was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in May 2018 after playing his collegiate career at Connecticut and Eastern Kentucky. He was a healthy scratch in every game but one during his rookie year in 2018. He also only saw limited action in three games in 2019, completing three of four passes. Despite stepping…

The Milwaukee Bucks handed the sixth-seed New York Knicks a 33-point drubbing in their first game back after the All-Star break. They played top-notch defense for 48 minutes, during which Bryn Forbes hit 7-7 on threes. Mamadi Diakite got his first minutes and points as a Milwaukee Buck. The Bucks debuted their new city jerseys as seven of them hit double figures.  It has to be said: the Bucks looked good, perhaps better than ever this season. Their play on both ends looked much more cohesive, and the week-long break looks like it did the team good. To put it…

ATLANTA, GA. — In a night that was filled with highlights from the league’s brightest stars, none were brighter than two time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Giannis finished the night with 35 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Giannis Goes Perfect All-Star games are known to have little effort through the first three quarters of play. One thing that you can count on is that there will be a lot of highlight plays, and deep three pointers attempted. With that said, another thing you can always count on in All-Star games is that Giannis is going to play hard throughout the…

The Milwaukee Bucks got through by the skin of their teeth, 112-111, at the end of an ugly, scrappy game that saw them lead by as much as 18. This should be a recap for a win, but it doesn’t feel like one.  As in most of the team’s near-losses, it’s the same story on all fronts. Certainly, a win is still a win, and we should take it. Fans should be happy about the victory standings-wise, but not about the team’s performance.  Here’s a quick wrap-up of what we noticed.  https://twitter.com/Bucks/status/1367680316857548801 Three-point Shooting Matters, Perhaps Too Much  As per…

It’s official. When the Milwaukee Brewers take the field on April 1 against the Minnesota Twins, there will be fans in the stands. The City of Milwaukee Health Commissioner approved 25 percent fan capacity at American Family Fields this season. Since Opening Day will be the first in-person game since September 22, 2019, we’ll take it.  Policies and Procedures Now, for the bad news. No tailgating. That’s a blow to many who partake in the Wisconsin tradition and may drive attendance down. With the 25 percent capacity, that’s an estimated 11,000-12,000 fans. Now for the basic COVID safety procedures; wear…

Packers Defensive Coordinator Joe Barry’s impressive first press conference was held this week. Almost a month after his hiring, he spoke with the Green Bay media and seemed to say all the right things and prove why Coach Matt LaFleur hired him as the Packers Defensive Coordinator. His 20 years of NFL experience showed.  Why This Time Will Be Different For Coach Berry The biggest criticism on Coach Berry getting hired was his past experiences as a defensive coordinator.  His two seasons, 2007 and 2008 with the Detroit Lions, didn’t go as planned. In his second season with the team,…

Down two point guards against the New Orleans Pelicans, head coach Mike Budenholzer could have easily plugged in Bryn Forbes as the starting point guard once more. Instead, he made the unlikely decision of placing starting shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo at point. The result was nothing if not revelatory. On the heels of lockdown defense and three-level scoring, Donte held Pelicans guard Eric Bledsoe to 5-13 shooting and notched the game-sealing charge. He finished with a career-high 24 points to go with seven boards, and nine assists. His +14 was second only to reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.  It was, bar…
