Five weeks have already come and gone for Wisconsin Football and the Big Ten season. As the season has gone along, teams in the Big Ten are beginning to separate themselves from the rest, whether that be good or bad. Where do I rank Wisconsin Football with the rest of the Big Ten this week?
Wisconsin Football and Week 6 Big Ten Power Rankings
- 1. Ohio State
- 2. Michigan
- 3. Penn State
- 4. Maryland
- 5. Wisconsin
- 6. Iowa
- 7. Rutgers
- 8. Minnesota
- 9. Purdue
- 10. Illinois
- 11. Nebraska
- 12. Indiana
- 13. Michigan State
- 14. Northwestern
Overall Thoughts
Not much changed this week in the power rankings. The biggest takeaway was Purdue’s blowout 44-19 win over Illinois on Saturday. It was a dominating performance from the Boilermakers and a bad showing from the Illini. it’s clear this will be a rebuilding year and step back for Bret Bielema.
We will learn a lot about the Badgers in the next three weeks. They will take on Rutgers, Iowa, Illinois, and Ohio State. If Wisconsin Football has a good showing this next month, they could run away with the Big Ten West. There’s no doubt there is a clear separation between the Big Ten East and Big Ten West divisions.
The bottom of the conference is taking shape as well. Michigan State, Indiana, and Nebraska are struggling and have struggled all season. It could be a tough rest of the season of those teams.
The game of the week will come in Columbus where Ohio State will host Maryland. The Terrapins have been great on offense so far. Saturday will be their first tough game of the season.
