The Wisconsin football staff has offered a scholarship to a 2025 running back after multiple conversations with position coach Devon Spalding.
Shekai Mills-Knight, a 2025 running back from Tennessee, is a shifty back that has plenty of upside at the collegiate level. Mills-Knight and Wisconsin football had previously been connected, but now the running back has officially received a scholarship after a productive call with Coach Spalding regarding his fit with the Badgers. The talented running back could become a lethal running back for the Wisconsin football team in the future, if the Badgers continue to keep a close relationship.
Wisconsin Football Offers Scholarship to 2025 Running Back Shekai Mills-Knight
Wisconsin football has extended another scholarship offer within the 2025 recruiting class after having multiple phone conversations with a talented running back. Shekai Mills-Knight is a versatile running back from Tennessee, who has lit up recruiting Social Media lately with his impressive highlight reels from this past season. Mills-Knight currently holds 15 scholarship offers and has made just three collegiate visits thus far into his recruitment.
A big Junior season put Mills-Knight onto the map, and since finishing the season the running back has picked up offers from major schools. Oregon, Mississippi State, Miami, Florida, and Liberty have all extended offers to Mills-Knight in just the past month as the recruit continues to gain interest.
Currently, Mills-Knight is considered to be a three-star recruit according to Rivals, however, he was just entered into their system. The recruit is so new to the collegiate scene that he has yet to have been discovered by many recruiting outlets, which explains his lack of rankings.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Coach Devon Spalding Extends Offer After ‘Studying’ Mills-Knight
For the Wisconsin football running backs coach Devon Spalding, there is a large expectation set upon the young man to be successful. Wisconsin has long been known as a program that produces the best-of-the-best when it comes to running backs, and the only way to do so is by finding the best backs in the class. Spalding has not been known as someone who targets the biggest recruits at the position, but rather studies film to find the right players.
Mills-Knight is someone who popped on film for Spalding due to his size and speed. At 6-foot-2-inches, 215-pounds, the running back and track runner not only has the speed to fly past people, but the strength to carry them into the end-zone with him. While Mills-Knight is a big, physical running back, he also has tremendous cutting ability and finds the smallest cracks in the defense to fly through.
Can the Wisconsin Football Staff Land Mills-Knight in the Future?
In order to land the dynamic running back, Wisconsin football will need to keep a close relationship with the recruit. Big programs such as Auburn, Ole Miss, and Utah have already been in contact with Mills-Knight for quite some time now, but none of them have appeared to have an effect on the recruit like Wisconsin. Mills-Knight expressed delight in his offer and loves what Wisconsin is developing under Head Coach Luke Fickell, which has led him to develop a close relationship with the staff.
