Only four days remain until Wisconsin Football opens their 2023 season! It’s been a few weeks of fall camp, but now the game week preparation begins.
The Badgers will open the season against the Buffalo Bulls out of the MAC. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 PM CST on FS1. Wisconsin Football released their week one depth chart yesterday. You can find it below here.

Wisconsin Football Depth Chart Takeaways
When I first look at the the Wisconsin Football depth chart, there isn’t much that sticks out to me. It was going to be intriguing to see how the receiver depth chart would look like. This is because the position is deep and talented with most of this group having different stand out days.
I am not surprised to see Chimere Dike, Bryson Green, and Will Pauling as the initial starters. They have had the best camps from spring and fall and they all bring in experience. I wouldn’t look at the second group as reserves either. Phil Longo has said they would like to use six receivers throughout the course of the game. We could easily see players like Skyler Bell and C.J. Williams get plenty of reps as well this weekend.
I was assuming there was a battle for a starting inside linebacker position and it looks like there is one between Jordan Turner and Jake Chaney. This Wisconsin Football team is loaded at inside linebacker and has been for a handful of years. Turner was the starter last year. Jake Chaney did see some action, but it’s been noted Luke Fickell’s staff really like Chaney and what he’s brought to the table so far. How reps are distributed between these two will be interesting to see as well.
