We have made it college football fans! This week, college football returns. The Wisconsin Football team begins their season Saturday afternoon at home against the Buffalo Bulls. Kick off is scheduled for 2:30 PM.

Throughout the season, I will rank the teams in the Big Ten and where the Wisconsin Badgers fit in. Here is how I see Wisconsin with the rest of the Big Ten in week one.

Going into this weekend, here is how I would rank the Big Ten:

    14. Northwestern

    13. Rutgers

    12. Indiana

    11. Purdue

    10. Michigan State

    9. Nebraska

    8. Illinois

    7. Minnesota

    6. Maryland

    5. Iowa

    4. Wisconsin

    3. Penn State

    2. Ohio State

    1. 1. Michigan

    Why Wisconsin Football at 4?

I have been on the record all spring and summer saying Wisconsin is the best team in the Big Ten West and the team to beat in the West division. Naturally, I will have them as the highest ranked West team.

I also believe Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan are all better teams right now. These three teams are the class of the Big Ten. Michigan and Ohio State return their stellar running back duos. I give the Wolverines the edge because they return starting quarterback J,J. McCarthy, Ohio State has to replace C.J. Stroud and will likely start Kyle McCord this week.

Between Wisconsin and Iowa, I give the Badgers the edge because of the depth at receiver and running back. The Hawkeyes have play-makers at running back and wide receiver, but not the depth and talent the Badgers have. This Wisconsin Football team can play up to six receivers and have the best running back duo in Braelon Allen and Chez Mellusi behind Michigan and Ohio State.

Minnesota and Illinois you could go back and forth on. I give the Golden Gophers the edge because of the quarterback position. Illinois will have a new signal caller and Minnesota returns Athan Kaliakmanis.
