Over the past few years, the Green Bay Packers have made a number of splashy trades. Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers were the main players in those trades in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
The New York Jets felt like they were in a perfect situation to go after a franchise quarterback and Rodgers fit that description perfectly.
However, one year removed from the trade has allowed both teams to realize exactly what they got in return

The New York Jets’ Full Return On Aaron Rodgers Trade With The Green Bay Packers Goes Viral
Rodgers was acquired along with a first-round pick (15th overall) and a fifth-round pick (170th overall). Will McDonald II was selected with the Jets’ 2023 first-round pick.
Following that, they traded the 170th pick for two later picks (204 and 220). Their two picks turned out to be Jarrick Bernard-Converse at safety and Zack Kuntz at tight end.
Despite playing only 184 snaps in 15 games, McDonald flashed his raw talent, particularly his bend off the edge, which was a big reason New York selected him 15th overall. Even though he didn’t take more than 18 snaps in a game, he recorded three sacks, four tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, and a forced fumble.
“I still made the most of my opportunities,” he said. “I tried to make as many plays as I can. I definitely learned a lot from the guys in the locker room. Next year, I’m about to ball out, take care of my business.”
It will be interesting to see how the Jets and Packers’ immediate future pans out after this huge trade. Clearly the Jets are still in a “win now” mode while the Packers continue to build for the future.
