The Wisconsin football staff has made another exciting offer in the 2025 recruiting class after meeting with an ESPN four-star recruit.
Brandon Finney, a versatile 2025 four-star recruit from Maryland, has been a rising player after dominating the competition this past season as a Junior. Finney and the Wisconsin football staff have just begun speaking with each other, but already the recruit has caught their eye.
Wisconsin Football Staff Offers Stunning Athlete Brandon Finney After Impressive Season on Both Sides of the Ball
After having a chance to meet with the Wisconsin football staff, talented athlete Brandon Finney received a scholarship offer. The Maryland native had been growing as a player, and this past season, the athlete finally got his chance to put his skills on full display.
Finney did not falter this season, as he recorded 51 receptions for 632 yards and four touchdowns offensively. Defensively, Finney recorded 22 tackles, three interceptions, and a pass defense while primarily playing corner back. The versatile player also returned punts for his team this past season and racked up 540 return yards.
Before this past season, Finney had minimal attention from major collegiate programs. However, after showcasing his ability to play in all facets of the game, the recruit has appeared on the radar of plenty of programs.
Where Could the Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff Play Finney?
One of the biggest tools Wisconsin football has been looking for in their recruits is versatility, and Finney would bring just that to the field. Currently, Finney has experience playing receiver, corner back, and safety as well as appearing as a returner.
The Wisconsin football staff is currently recruiting Finney as a corner back, since the staff sees that as his potential position in college. The talented recruit is also an accomplished track and field competitor who is both a hurdler and a sprinter. Finney has insane speed on the track, and he is able to use that speed to move to where the play is going to be.
Finney has displayed exceptional field vision and instincts thus far in his High School football career. His tools and abilities fit best as a corner back, but at 180-pounds Finney can also hit hard as a safety.
A Look Ahead: Could Wisconsin Land Brandon Finney Over a Big Ten Rival?
While the recruitment of Finney is still very new, other programs have been quick to swoop in on the talented recruit. Among other programs that have offered Finney are Penn State, Indiana, Maryland, and Syracuse. Thus far in his recruitment, one particular program has truly stood out.
Unfortunately for the Wisconsin Badgers football staff, the Penn State Nittany Lions have already had Finney on campus and met with the recruit multiple times. It is still very early as Finney is relatively new to the recruiting world, but the Nittany Lions seem to have a significant lead.
