The Wisconsin football staff has made another scholarship offer in the 2025 recruiting class to someone who has been rising on the boards lately.
Brad Fitzgibbon, a 2025 three-star defensive lineman from Chicago, received a scholarship from the Wisconsin football staff following a meeting with Greg Scruggs. Fitzgibbon is a talented defender, but has not received much collegiate attention yet. The Wisconsin football staff is hoping to land the recruit before other major programs join in.
Wisconsin Football Eyeing 2025 Three-Star Brad Fitzgibbon Following Scholarship Offer
Brad Fitzgibbon is a Chicago native that has been on the radar of the Wisconsin football staff for quite some time now. Fitzgibbon got his chance to start on Varsity during his Sophomore season and played well enough to earn a handful of offers. Now Fitzgibbon, a Junior, is watching the offers flood in as he impressed during the season and during collegiate work-outs as well.
Following the recent Wisconsin offer, Kansas State and Vanderbilt have also joined in after getting a chance to see the film of Fitzgibbon. However, despite other programs joining in the hunt, the Badgers still remain the favorite to land the recruit due to the connection he has to his offer.
Does Fitzgibbon Fit the Wisconsin Badgers Football ‘Mold’ Coach Fickell Has Developed?
Fitzgibbon spoke about the Wisconsin offer and said, “Definitely an offer I was looking for.” The Badgers staff visited Fitzgibbon at Marist High School in Chicago multiple times before they felt comfortable enough to extend a scholarship. The talented defender was certainly looking forward to the offer, which could be huge for Wisconsin.
While he may not be the flashiest player or the fastest defender on the field, Fitzgibbon is a relentless attacker on defense. The defensive lineman is consistently hunting for the ball and never stops working even when the play has shifted to the other side of the field.
Between the high motor and football intelligence that Fitzgibbon displays, as well as his ability to work hard, he certainly would be a great fit for the Wisconsin Badgers under Coach Luke Fickell.
Can the Badgers Staff Land Fitzgibbon in the Near Future?
While Fitzgibbon admitted that the Wisconsin offer was a big one for him, that does not necessarily mean the Badgers will land the defender just yet. Fitzgibbon is still new to the recruiting world and likely will spend his time collecting offers first before making a decision. However, it truly depends on how strong of an impact the staff and the scholarship offer made on the recruit.
