Giannis Antetokounmpo was born in Athens, Greece, on December 6, 1994.  His parents were originally from Nigeria.  Three years earlier, his parents had moved from Lagos, leaving their firstborn son, Francis, under the care of his grandparents.  Giannis grew up in the Athens neighborhood of Sepolia.

Today the first round of the NBA playoffs started with the Bucks hosting the Bulls.  A few fans from Greece made the 5,300 mile long journey to watch Giannis play:

It is pretty cool to see fans travel so far for a man who has made such a name for himself.  Greece may love Giannis more than Milwaukee... maybe.
