Miami Dolphins Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is considered a top-15 quarterback in this league. He has weapons such as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and the offensive brainpower of Head Coach Mike McDaniel. Some think Tua rolls out of bed and throws 25 touchdowns, but based on yesterday’s viral clip with the local media, it’s more complicated than that.
Tua Tagovailoa Has Hilarious Exchange With the Local Media

Tua Tagovailoa showcased it’s tough to be an NFL quarterback. This reminded me of that Chris Simms clip when he had trouble reciting the play in the huddle while Jon Gruden was the head coach.
It’s not a surprise that the media couldn’t recite one of Miami’s plays. Mike McDaniel is known as one of the brightest offensive minds in the league. Working with Kyle Shanahan all those years in San Francisco, he acquired football knowledge that not many people who cover the game could pick up on.
The players should allow media members to be a part of one training camp practice because players are always talking about how the media never played football, so how would they know? You kill two birds with one stone by allowing them to take part in one practice but not get hit.
Why Is This a Big Year for Tua Tagovailoa?
Playing with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle could make an average Joe off the street look like an All-Pro quarterback, but if there’s any quarterback who’s perfect to showcase Hill and Waddle’s talents, it’s Tua Tagovailoa.
He ranked fourth in deep ball performance last year, per PFF. He had 10 deep passing touchdowns (sixth), a passer rating of 124.1 (first), and a deep completion of 24.5% (second).
The only concern for Tua is the concussion history. Tagovailoa suffered two diagnosed concussions last year against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4 and the Green Bay Packers in Week 16 (Tagovailoa stayed in the game against Green Bay). Concussions in football are a serious matter, and with the information available regarding head injuries in pro athletes, you want to make sure Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t risk suffering another concussion.
Tagovailoa did have his best year as a pro in Mike McDaniel’s offense. He threw for 3,548 yards, 25 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a passer rating of 105.5.
The Dolphins added more weapons for Tua this off-season. They signed Braxton Berrios, who should help them in the slot. Miami also replaced TE Mike Gesicki with Tyler Kroft and sixth-round draft pick Elijah Higgins.
This is a big year for Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins in the daunting AFC. However, if Tua can stay healthy, the Dolphins should vie for an AFC Wild-Card spot.
