The Green Bay Packers fans have had a consistent team to cheer along for a while. Since the NFL’s inception, the Green Bay Packers have recorded the most wins in the NFL to go along with 12 division titles since the NFC North’s creation in 2002, the most of any of the NFC North teams. To go along with consistency on the field the Green Bay Packers have also been consistent in their uniforms.
The Green Bay Packers have been utilizing the same uniforms since before the NFC North’s creation (1997), keeping a consistent feel throughout the teams’ rosters and staffs. Besides some specialty uniforms like the all-white ‘color rush’ created in 2015 or the 50’s inspired throwback alternates debuted in 2021, the NFC North has grown accustomed to seeing the Packers in their classic look.
Unlike the Green Bay Packers, other teams in the NFC North have altered their jerseys in recent history. The Minnesota Vikings have changed their uniforms multiple times through the 2000’s and most recently the Detroit Lions have brought about new jerseys.

The new uniforms for the Detroit Lions sports subtle yet impactful differences to their previous uniforms. Namely the numbers fonts and stylization. Their previous numbers are widely considered awkward and not well done. The incorporation of silver throughout the jerseys simply did not pop or work the way they may have hoped. In the new rendition, the numbers have been swapped to blue or white. The new numbers also have a visual texture on the inside, providing a unique and tasteful pop to the new kits. The sleeves were also touched up to provide a cleaner look.
The biggest reveal is the brand-new black alternates. The black option for their kit now makes them the only team in the NFC North to have a black option to sport throughout the season, the closest being the Chicago Bears classic deep navy. The Green Bay Packers are likely one of the last teams to incorporate a black look, given their classic palate of green/gold/white has been internationally immortalized by fans. But Green Bay Packers will likely ask the question, what may the Green Bay Packers have in store for future uniforms in a post Aaron Rodgers era?
