The Milwaukee Milkmen Maintain a 5 game lead
Lately I have been wondering if the Milkmen only lose when I attend? They had lost three games in a row and I was at two of them. But even with this slight skid, Milwaukee maintains a 5 ½ game lead in the Eastern Division. They appeared poised for a good playoff run and did win Thursday Night.
Milkmen star Bryan Torres won player of the month in July with a .405 average, 8 hrs and 30 RBIs. He also leads the American Association of Professional Baseball in steals with 50. Like a Ricky Henderson who hits for power, Torres deserves a ton of credit for his all-star season.

Game Recaps
The Milwaukee Milkmen won a close game Thursday Night against local rival the Lake County Dockhounds 5-4. In that game Milwaukee really did a good job of closing out the game, scoring a run in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings. Starter Christian Young pitched well again, going for six strong innings. Catcher Roy Morales led the way on the offensive side in the win, going 2-4 with a double and a home run.
On Wednesday the Milkmen lost to Lake County. In the 4th inning they gave up 9 runs, a rare defensive breakdown for a team that is built on speed, pitching and defense. To the Milkmen’s credit they did continue to battle. But even after a three home-run effort, it just wasn’t enough.
On Tuesday Milwaukee jumped out to an early lead but again, that pesky 4th inning caught them again. They lost Tuesday 8-6.
Milwaukee, as a team, leads the league in total hits (690). And while they are 8th in the league in team homeruns, this team really makes solid contact on the ball and puts pressure on the defense by getting guys on base.

Up next for the Milkmen is an important home series against the Chicago Dogs.
Chicago is 37-34 on the season. Chicago is a fun team but they are one of the worst fielding teams in the American Association of Professional baseball. They have made 67 errors this season, putting them near the bottom.

Individual Hitter Updates

The Milkmen really have some speed. We mention this all of the time in this space but Milwaukee really has some fast guys. Bryan Torres continues to lead the league with 50 stolen bases. He plays a lighting quick leadoff role for the team.
Outfielder Reggie Pruitt Jr. has 31 stolen bases and is third overall in the league in steals. infielder Aaron Hill has 25 stolen bases.
The team has 159 total stolen bases putting them well ahead of the next closest group (Cleburne).
Milwaukee has the top two hitters (batting average) in the American Association of Professional baseball. Bryan Torres leads the league in average and is hitting .363. Catcher Roy Morales is close behind hitting .358. All-star Gabriel Cancel is flirting with .300 (.299). He has been a consistent hitter for this team and has helped provide some power (12 Home runs.)
Cam Redding and Cam Balego don’t get enough credit for the great seasons they are having. “The Cams” both hit for power and average. Balego and Redding are both hitting .287. As of the time of this writing they share both a first name and a batting average.
