The Milwaukee Milkmen Continue to Update their Roster for Next Season
The Milwaukee Milkmen have been busy this winter, updating their roster and adding new players. The team is facing some roster upheaval for good reasons: three of their players have been offered MLB contracts.
The team lost star Christian Young to the Los Angeles Angels. Pitcher Peyton Grey also signed with the Cincinnati Reds. That is a big chunk of their all-star pitching.
Young started 18 games this past season for Milwaukee. He went 7-6 with an impressive 3.91 ERA. Young pitched 98 innings and had 110 strikeouts. He only gave up 30 walks. Young’s impressive whip helped the team throughout the season.
Also, a HUGE congratulations to Christian Young! 🐮

The Milkmen also lost star Bryan Torres to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Torres led all of the American Association of Professional baseball in batting, averaging .370 on the season. Teammate Roy Morales was second in the AA, hitting .360.
He played in 90 games and had 359 AB’s, garnering 133 base hits. He was known all throughout the AA as a “tough out”.

Say ‘Hello’ to new outfielder Boog Powell
In a big move for the team, Milwaukee has signed former Oakland A and Seattle Mariner Boog Powell. The left handed hitting and left handed throwing Powell could have “star potential” for the team.
Here is a link to his fangraphs page when he played at the MLB level.
Powell played 59 games in the MLB and hit .262. He also hit three major league home runs. In 2017 he was also viewed as a “top prospect” amongst many MLB lists.
The Milkmen have also signed a former San Francisco Giant Minor Leaguer
Infielder Abdiel Layer has also been added by the Milkmen. Layer was drafted in the 40th round of the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft. He’ll be a key infielder for the squad.
The Team Adds Pitcher Eli Davis and Shane Barringer
Milwaukee recently announced they have acquired two more pitchers. They both are coming from very different places and backgrounds.
Pitcher Eli Davis is coming to the team from the Kansas Jayhawks. He is young and right out of college.
Newly acquired Shane Barringer is a little more of a veteran presence to the staff, having played in the AA the past two seasons for the Milkman’s rival, the Chicago Dogs.
The team expects big things from these two new arms.
🚨 Welcome Eli Davis to the Milwaukee Milkmen! 🚨
Davis haș spent the last 5 season with the Kansas Jayhawks and the Oklahoma City Stars. In 2023, Davis was names to the 2023 American Baseball Coaches Association Rawlings Gold Glove Team.

The Team has bolstered their pitching depth with other additions
Mark Simon is coming aboard to help handle some pitching duties. Simon has played the last three seasons in the Northwest and Pioneer leagues where he threw for 14 wins, a 3.54 ERA, and 179 strikeouts. He is expected to be a starter for the team.
The Milkmen also added Pablo Garabitos. He was drafted in the 25th Round of the 2018 draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.
