The 2023 offseason has been a wild ride for the Green Bay Packers, trading of their Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets just before the NFL Draft. As the team embarks on a new era, fans still determine what to expect from their new QB1, Jordan Love.
However, there are three compelling reasons why Love might have a statistically better season than Rodgers.

In 2022, Aaron Rodgers made some questionable decisions on offense. He pointed out that Matt LaFleur’s offense needed to be more straightforward with less motion. However, LaFleur insisted on sticking to the same offensive strategy. Despite Rodgers’ impressive track record, the coaching staff ultimately decides the game plan for each opponent. This is where Jordan Love can excel by avoiding the temptation to play “hero ball,” instead executing the offense as intended. Love has experience with the modern wave of offensive play calling in college and the pros. Love can make some big plays with the young players on his team.
Surrounding Packers Players

The Packers have drafted some talented players to support their quarterback. Among these are TE Luke Musgrave, WR Jayden Reed, and TE Tucker Kraft, all expected to impact the team’s offense significantly. Second-year receivers Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs are poised to make significant strides this season. With these young playmakers on the field, the team can expect a stronger and more confident offensive performance without the pressure of walking on eggshells around Rodgers.
And let’s remember the powerful running duo of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, who will serve as valuable weapons for Love.
No Expectations For Jordan love
The Green Bay Packers’ projected win total for the 2023 season is 7.5. The team is in a transitional phase with a young roster, and experts are not optimistic about their chances. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers carries a heavy burden as he adjusts to a new team, and attempts to lead the New York Jets to the playoffs. Jordan Love needs playing time to develop, but just needs to play football. This marks the first time in over a decade that the Packers are not considered Super Bowl contenders. However, they could surprise fans in a weaker-than-normal NFC.
Regardless, the upcoming season will be exciting to watch as we see what unfolds for Love and Rodgers.
