The Arizona Cardinals may be looking to move DeAndre Hopkins. After hiring a new general manager and being in the midst of a head coaching search, their team could look completely different in 2023.
Hopkins Future
In new GM Monti Ossenfort’s introductory press conference, Cardinals owner Michael Bidwell mentioned that Hopkins’ future is something that Ossenfort will be evaluating. Earlier this week Ian Rapoport reported that the two parties will sit down and meet.
“My understanding is Monti Ossenfort, the new GM for the Arizona Cardinals, is going to sit down with Hopkins, likely this week, and plot out the future. Are they willing to explore a trade, or is he gonna make sure Hopkins is there for the 2023 season?” Rapoport said.
Hopkins will have a $30.75 million cap hit next season but has no guaranteed money left. It is possible he could look for an extension, but the Cardinals might be looking to move on from the veteran.
Packers Favored by Draft Kings to Land Hopkins

As of January 20th, on DraftKings, the Packers have the best odds to land the former All-Pro. The Packers have +350 odds just ahead of the Patriots at +450. The Chiefs have the third-best odds at +500.
The Packers would have to work some serious salary cap magic to make it happen, but currently, they are the betting favorite. However, the Packers will likely wait until they figure out their quarterback situation before making any big trade calls.
In 2022 Hopkins was suspended for six games and finished the year with:
- 64 receptions
- 717 yards
- 3 touchdowns
- 11.2 yards per reception
The Packers usually don’t make moves like this, but clearly, the oddsmakers see something here.
