The New York Jets will be an extremely interesting team to watch this off-season. One of the biggest areas to watch is what the Jets will do at their quarterback position. It has been widely reported that the Jets are interested in trading for Aaron Rodgers. However, it is pretty obvious that Rodgers will only be in the league for one to two (maybe three) more years. If a team decides to trade for him, they will be entering a “win now” mode. The New York Jets know this and made a decision at quarterback in an attempt to secure their long-term health at the quarterback position.
The New York Jets Are Reportedly Not Trading QB Zach Wilson
In a recent article by The Athletic, NFL insider Jeff Howe revealed that the Jets don’t intend to trade Zach Wilson. Despite his shortcomings, the Jets are committing to Wilson going forward, at least for the 2023 NFL season. Obviously, that could change if New York receives an offer it cannot refuse, but Howe’s current reporting indicates that Wilson’s staying put.
“The Jets don’t intend to trade their 2021 first-round pick because there’s hope he can develop while learning more in a backup capacity,” Howe wrote.
Howe also reported what many others in the industry have already stated, that the Jets “remain poised to acquire a veteran quarterback this offseason to take over the starting job.” A few names to watch would be Aaron Rodgers, Jimmy Garoppolo and Derek Carr. There were many reactions on social media when the news broke that the Jets don’t want to move on from Zach Wilson:
The Jets should trade Zach Wilson, 2 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick for Aaron Rodgers

As long as he has a clipboard in his hands we don’t care

It’s the right decision. Don’t cut your losses when you have an asset that clearly has potential. Do your job and coach him up. Then if you need to…make the tough decision when the time comes.

I’m sure the demand for Zach Wilson is through the roof 😂
