The Aaron Rodgers trade rumors have absolutely taken off over the last few weeks. Rodgers was linked to the Jets earlier in the month, as the Jets need a veteran quarterback. The Jets hired former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett this week to run Robert Saleh’s offense. Now there are reports that the New York Jets are in the process of putting together an offer for the four-time MVP quarterback.
New York Jets Reportedly Preparing Mega Offer For Aaron Rodgers
According to Cam Marino, the Jets have spent the last 72 hours preparing an offer for Aaron Rodgers (as of 7:39 PM CST on January 31st, 2023):
Source: The New York Jets are gearing up to send a lucrative offer to Green Bay for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. This includes a first round pick and more.
Green Bay is not yet firm on any decision regarding Rodgers’ future with the team but this has been heating up for the NYJ over the last 72 hours.
Aaron Rodgers has choices this offseason. He could retire, play for the Packers, or ask for a trade. Due to the lack of a “no trade clause” in Rodgers contract, the trade wouldn’t have to be one Rodgers approves of. Retirement seems the least likely result for Rodgers next season. He said after the Detroit Lions’ loss in Week 18, he still feels like he can play quarterback at an elite level. So whether Rodgers stays or is traded will likely be decided by the Packers’ choices in free agency. Recently, two trade packages surfaced for Aaron Rodgers. Both could be proposed by the New York Jets this off-season.
