NFL News: The 2023 NFL off-season has been eventful, to say the least. Tom Brady retired, Aaron Rodgers was traded, and Lamar Jackson re-signed with the Baltimore Ravens. Multiple big-name running backs will be on the move as well. Dalvin Cook and Ezekiel Elliot were both released and are currently free agents. However, one overwhelming favorite has emerged for premier free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
Overwhelming Favorite Emerges For DeAndre Hopkins In Free Agency

According to DraftKings, the New England Patriots have over taken every other team interested in DeAndre Hopkins when it comes to betting odds. The Patriots sit at +100. The Bills have the next best odds at +350, followed by the Titans at +400 and the Lions at +500.
The Patriots linebacker tweeted “GM of the year?” on this past weekend. This came after DeAndre Hopkins visited the Patriots on Thursday. Immediately many people on Twitter speculated if that’s what his tweet was about, wondering if the Patriots inked Hopkins to a deal. No news has been reported regarding an official contract as of yet.
Do The Green Bay Packers Still Have A Shot To Sign DeAndre Hopkins?

The Packers could be an upgrade for DeAndre Hopkins if general manager Brian Gutekunst wants to be aggressive in the wide receiver market. Head coach Matt LaFleur has said he’d prefer the Packers have a veteran wide receiver for Jordan Love to throw to. Love would certainly benefit from Hopkins’ big frame to target in pressure situations.
Early in the 2023 off-season, the Green Bay Packers were even the favorite to land Hopkins. The Packers currently have more than $16 million in cap space. The ability to sign a veteran wide receiver is certainly there, but is the interest? Hopkins’ likely asking price of nearly $15 million a year is likely much to steep for the Green Bay Packers to afford, however, if void years are implemented to reduce the cap hit in 2023 it could certainly be possible.
