Milwaukee Bucks news: The compelling coaching narrative around the NBA took another major twist on Thursday after it was announced that the Phoenix Suns had decided to part ways with Frank Vogel after just one season at the helm.
A couple of names have quickly popped up as potential replacements for the one-time NBA champion coach, which includes former Bucks shot-caller Mike Budenholzer. One potential candidate, however, has already been ruled out as Phoenix’s next head coach.
Milwaukee Bucks News: JJ Redick NOT in Consideration for Phoenix Suns HC Opening
Former Bucks shooting guard JJ Redick is apparently not in the running for the newly-opened post in Phoenix. This is according to Suns insider John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix:
JJ Reddick will not be a candidate.

Redick, who shot to fame as a podcaster/broadcaster in his post-NBA career, recently indicated that he is open to the possibility of being a head coach in the league. The 39-year-old does not have any professional coaching experience, though, and it appears that the Suns are looking for a more tenured candidate to take on the high-pressure role of coaching Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Co.
Mike Budenholzer Considered Frontrunner for Suns
It appears that it’s actually Budenholzer who is closing in on the Suns coaching job. The one-time NBA champion shot-caller won the Coach of the Year title with the Bucks twice, and he definitely has the resume to take on the high-profile gig in Phoenix.
Budenholzer is the Suns’ target and talks are expected to move quickly, sources tell ESPN. He’s been working to assemble a coaching staff for a return to a head coaching job and that process is also gathering momentum, sources said. https://t.co/PSWPi9C6Pr

Bucks fans know Coach Bud well and they know what this man is capable of. The Suns could do far worse than him.
