The Green Bay Packers have been linked to DeAndre Hopkins since the end of last season, and a new report indicates his signing with the team isn’t so far off. The Arizona Cardinals recently released the All-Pro wide receiver during OTAs.
Hopkins named five quarterbacks he was interested in playing for in 2023. The Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and Kansas City Chiefs were thought to be the most logical places for Hopkins to end up. The 31-year-old wide receiver wants to play with a contending team. Unfortunately for Hopkins, many of his preferred destinations are not interested in paying his wished salary this season.
DeAndre Hopkins is meeting with a meh team
A new report from Tom Pellissero with the NFL Network shows that Hopkins is looking for a lower-tier team to play with than the five teams on his list two weeks ago. Hopkins will meet with the Tennessee Titans this weekend.
Free-agent WR DeAndre Hopkins is slated to fly to Nashville on Sunday for a visit with the #Titans, per sources.

The Green Bay Packers should shoot their shot
The Titans finished with a 7-10 record last season and are in a similar, if not worse, boat than the Packers this offseason. The Titans are in a semi-rebuild mode. They could also be starting a new quarterback this season after the Titans drafted quarterback Will Levis in the second round of April’s draft.

The Packers could be an upgrade for Hopkins if general manager Brian Gutekunst wants to be aggressive in the wide receiver market. Head coach Matt LaFleur has said he’d prefer the Packers have a veteran wide receiver for Jordan Love to throw to. Love, who has struggled at times in OTAs, could benefit from Hopkins’ big frame to target in pressure situations.
