Milwaukee Bucks news: Overshadowed by the massive developments that took place in NBA coaching circles on Thursday night is the fact that the Charlotte Hornets have already announced their new head coach.
After an exhaustive search for Steve Clifford’s replacement, the Hornets have decided that the best man for the job is former Boston Celtics assistant Charles Lee, who also happens to trace his roots back to the Mike Budenholzer coaching tree in Milwaukee.
Former Milwaukee Bucks Assistant Charles Lee Named Charlotte Hornets Head Coach

Lee, 39, will become one of the youngest head coaches in the NBA. He will take charge of a very youthful squad in Charlotte which will be spearheaded by the likes of LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller.

The Hornets have poached Lee from under the wing of Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla, who is currently looking to lead Boston to their first championship in 16 years.
Before taking his talents to Bean Town, Lee served under Budenholzer in Milwaukee for five years. He was an integral part of the coaching staff during the Bucks’ historic 2021 championship run, and he is looking to bring this same level of experience to Charlotte in what will be his first head coaching opportunity.
Best of luck, coach!
