The New York Jets are about to be forced into participating in something they don’t want to do, and it’s all Aaron Rodgers’ fault. The Jets were one of four NFL teams who could be forced to have their training camp televised on the HBO show Hard Knocks.
The Jets, Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, and New Orleans Saints all meet the criteria to be forced into having the series document their preseason. None of those four teams want to be on the show this season.
HBO was looking at filming another NFL team who had an interest. They even considered possibly returning to record the Detroit Lions, who they filmed last year. But it appears the NFL will give HBO the outcome they would have wanted after the Rodgers trade.

NFL News: Aaron Rodgers/New York Jets on Hard Knocks?
According to Mike Florio with NBC Sports, the Jets are preparing to host Hard Knocks this summer:
“The NFL apparently will not be listening to the preferences of the HC of the NYJ .
Per a league source, the Jets are bracing for the preseason Hard Knocks assignment, despite making known publicly (and privately) their lack of interest in serving as the focal point of this year’s show.”
The Jets are my, and probably most, NFL fan’s number-one team choice for Hard Knocks this season. There will be a lot of excitement surrounding the team. The Jets have three amazing second-year players in Garrett Wilson, Sauce Gardner, and Breece Hall.
The Jets also have storylines with Zach Wilson needing to redeem himself and Quinnen Williams wanting a new contract. The biggest storyline for Hard Knocks is the Green Bay Packers invasion. The Jets signed several free agents on the Packers 2022 as they traded for Rodgers this offseason.
Rodgers is the key to the Jets being on Hard Knocks. The Jets knew the diva, who loves talking to the media, would bring distractions to the team, both purposeful and accidental. Besides the picks given to Green Bay and the $50 million per year to Rodgers, that’s the price the Jets will pay to have an MVP-caliber veteran throwing footballs in New York.
