For months, there has been speculation surrounding the future of former Green Bay Packers safety Adrian Amos. Many believed the Packers would try to bring him back to an unproven and, to be frank, worrisome safety room. However, the former team captain is following Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler:

His contract is for one year and $4 million.
Could the Green Bay Packers Have Afforded Adrian Amos?
In short, the answer is yes. The Packers could have afforded to pay Amos $4 million for the 2023 season. They currently have over $16 million in cap space and have signed all their draft picks.
The fact that Amos signed for so little, and not with Green Bay, is evidence that the team was ready to move on from him and commit to the young players they have.
The starting safeties will be Darnell Savage and likely Rudy Ford, though recent free agent signing Jonathan Owens started all 17 games for the Houston Texans last season.
Aaron Rodgers Has Numerous Former Teammates with Him on the New York Jets
Amos joins not a small group of players that have signed with the Jets to play with Rodgers. These players are:
- Allen Lazard
- Randall Cobb
- Billy Turner
- Tim Boyle
And this does not even include offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
It should be noted that Amos had his worst season as a professional last year, giving up a 70% completion percentage while opposing quarterbacks had a 107.7 passer rating while targeting him.
