NFL: Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets believe they are squarely in their Super Bowl window. The Jets have added many veterans to their team this year including Dalvin Cook, Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Adrian Amos, and Billy Turner. That coupled with Aaron Rodgers and their returning players, the Jets feel they can be competitive in a very tough AFC Conference. However, they will now be without one of the starting wide receivers from a year ago.
New York Jets’ Wide Receiver Corey Davis Suddenly Retires From The NFL

Jets veteran wide receiver Corey Davis announced he is retiring from the NFL after six seasons in the league. Davis posted a statement to social media explaining his decision.
“For some time now I’ve been contemplating stepping away from the sport of football. This decision has not been easy. Although I am a deep person, I am a man of few words. I’ve been searching my heart for what to do and I feel that stepping away from the game is the best path for me at this time.
“I have more blessings than I could have ever imagined – I have an amazing family, a beautiful wife and two healthy children that I look forward to spending more time with. I am truly grateful for all the opportunities I have had and will continue to have on my journey. Thank you to my family and friends and the Jets organization for supporting me through this process.”
Davis was the fifth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans after a standout college career at Western Michigan. He spent four years with the team before signing a three-year, $37.5 million deal with the Jets.
Davis was in the final year of his deal with the Jets, where his base salary was $10.5 million.
Where Does This Leave The New York Jets And Aaron Rodgers With WRs?

Now that Davis is gone, it opens up a roster spot at wide receiver that seems most likely to be filled by one of three players: un-drafted rookies Jason Brownlee or Xavier Gipson, or former Green Bay Packers receiver Malik Taylor.
Their starting wide receivers remain Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman, and Randall Cobb. Last year Corey Davis appeared in 13 games for the Jets, starting 10 of them.
