NFL: The Green Bay Packers are going to have a brand new offense in 2023. Headlined by the franchise-altering Aaron Rodgers trade, the Packers’ offense has undergone a complete overhaul during the 2023 off-season. That overhaul continued today when the Packers added yet another wide receiver to their active roster.
Green Bay Packers Activate Wide Receiver Grant DuBose From The Non-Football Injury List (NFL)
Aaliyan Mohammed of Wisconsin Sports Heroics highlighted the move earlier today:
The Green Bay Packers had a very eventful offseason. Between the Aaron Rodgers trade to the NFL Draft, the roster is vastly different than just a year ago. The Packers added lots of young pieces in the draft and just activated Grant DuBose from the non-football injury (NFI) list.
DuBose has missed all of the offseason program and training camp with a back injury. He was the 256th pick for the Green Bay Packers in the NFL Draft. He will now be able to showcase his talents as he enters a competition for a spot on the roster. Malik Heath, Bo Melton, Dontayvion Wicks and Grant DuBose will all be grinding to earn a spot on the roster.
DuBose split his college career between Charlotte and Miles College (Ala.), a Division II program in Alabama which was his only scholarship offer out of high school. DuBose saw action in 10 games in 2019 before the school didn’t play football in 2020 due the COVID-19 pandemic. He worked three jobs that year, including at Wal-Mart.
The 6-foot-2, 201-pound receiver joined the Charlotte football team in the summer of 2021 and caught a 56-yard touchdown on his first target in the season opener against Duke. DuBose earned an All-Conference USA honorable mention after leading the team with 62 catches for 892 yards and six touchdowns.
DuBose was named second-team All-Conference USA as a senior after catching 63 passes for 787 yards and a career-high nine TDs. DuBose ran a 4.57 in the 40 at the combine with a 35-inch vertical and 10-5 broad jump, and 6.89 time in the three-cone drill, third fastest among receivers in Indy.
