It’s no secret Patrick Beverley is a fierce opponent to face in an NBA game, a detail most NBA stars can attest to. But since he’s playing with Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo this season, the Greek Freak can now make jokes about the feisty point guard without any inhibitions.
Beverley was first drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and traded to the Miami Heat shortly after. He then got cut from the final roster even before the guard can play his first actual NBA game. That moment came in 2013 when the Houston Rockets signed him to a multi-year deal.
As the years went by, Beverley made a name for himself by specializing on defense and being the loudest voice on and off the court for his team. His stints with the Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers solidified him as one of the better role players in the NBA, leading several teams to obtain his services in the past years.
And while he has become somewhat of a journeyman playing for different franchises and with various All-Star teammates, such as Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James and Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid, his current stint in Milwaukee has placed him right next to one-time NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Jokes About Teammate Patrick Beverley
Just recently, a video of Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo surfaced about their favorite NBA player while growing up. The former’s answer was a direct joke about Beverley, as seen in a video posted by CyrusTheVirus on X:
Kid: “Who was your favorite NBA player growing up?”
Thanasis Antetokounmpo: Dennis Rodman and Kevin Garnett
Giannis: “Mine was Patrick Beverley. Nah, I’m joking. [Kevin Durant, Allen Iverson, and Magic Johnson]”

In the 26 games Beverley played in Milwaukee, the point guard averaged 6.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. They are currently on the brink of elimination in their first round series against Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers.
With the Bucks’ season on the line, Beverley’s experience and talent will come in handy to extend their run. Hopefully, the Greek Freak gets to play one full season with him to truly unlock their partnership.
