The Milwaukee Brewers promoted top infield prospect Tyler Black to the Major Leagues. After a day of travel and little sleep he began Tuesday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays as a bench player. However a first inning injury to designated hitter Gary Sanchez resulted in Black pinch running and eventually collecting multiple hits during his MLB debut.
Tyler Black doubles during his first big league at-bat.
With southpaw Tyler Alexander on the mound for the Rays Tyler Black got his first hit in the Major Leagues off a two strike pitch that he sliced into center field. The ball had enough carry on it that it bounced off Jose Siri’s glove and Black easily made it into second base for a double.

Milwaukee Brewers reporter Sophia Minnaert handed the mic over to Tyler Black’s dad during his second at-bat.
Prior to Tyler Black taking his second career at-bat Sophia Minnaert was interviewing his dad in the stands. His son then came up to bat and he did a play-by-play. Black ended up getting his second hit of the game and his father said, ” base hit for my boy!”

What’s the plan for Tyler Black going forward?
After it was announced that Tyler Black was being promoted to the big leagues manager Pat Murphy indicated that the plan is for him to see time at first base and designated hitter. Black has the ability to play third base as well but that is not in the immediate plans. With Black arriving Jake Bauers will play more in the outfield.
