NFL: The Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills are two teams who have become accustomed to winning. The Packers have been in the playoff conversation nearly every year for the last three decades thanks in large part to Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. The Bills have become a Super Bowl contender every year Josh Allen suits up as their quarterback. That being said, the Packers and Bills could use each other to benefit their long-term needs in this massive trade proposal.
Green Bay Packers Land Wide Receiver Gabe Davis In Massive Trade Proposal With Buffalo Bills (NFL)
Gabe Davis has been rumored to be a potential trade candidate for the Bills for much of the 2023 off-season. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is looking to get a nice pay day afterward. Buffalo is already spending big at the wide receiver position. They inked Stefon Diggs to a four-year, $96 million contract last offseason and the club is having salary cap issues of their own.
There’s not a ton of wiggle room to fit in the type of contact Davis commands. With Diggs, Von Miller and Josh Allen all being paid top dollar, Buffalo does need an influx of young, cheap talent that could be achieved by sending Davis to a team willing to pay him and give the Bills some draft capital in the process. Could the Packers be that team?
What Would A Trade For Gabe Davis Look Like?
The Bills spent a fourth round draft pick on Davis during the 2020 NFL draft. During the 24-year-old’s first three seasons in the league he has accumulated 118 receptions, 1,984 yards, and 20 touchdowns. A wide receiver averaging 660 yards and 7 touchdowns per year would be huge for the Packers offense.
Additionally, in those three seasons with the Bills, Davis has only missed two games. The only games that Davis did not play in was Week 16 in 2021 and Week 2 in 2022. His availability has been off the charts since entering the league. The Bills have certainly got their return investment in Davis, off-loading him before having to pay him may seem like another win in their book. This is what we have in mind:
Green Bay Packers Receive:
- WR Gabe Davis
Buffalo Bills Receive:
- 2024 Third Round Draft Pick
- 2024 Sixth Round Draft Pick
The Packers giving up a third round pick for an immediate weapon seems like a major win. For Buffalo, they cash in on their fourth round pick from three years ago and get an additional pick on top of it.

I’m a Bills fan and came across the post…
I don’t disagree with the idea of trading Gabe Davis, but I know this guy’s value and believe Beane will extend him before considering such a lackluster proposal. Davis has WR1 talent and is looking better than Diggs in camp thus far. Trading a guy who caught 4 touchdowns in a playoff game won’t help Josh Allen… especially when Beane’s picks in rounds 2 and 3 have historically been his worst.
HOWEVER, a second rounder and Doubs would probably suffice.
