The Green Bay Packers do not have much flexibility in the wide receiver room. Even with their three WR draft picks, Sammy Watkins, and those still on the roster from 2021, it is still one of Green Bay’s less experienced groups. There are new reports of Green Bay’s arguable #1 WR wanting to play somewhere else next year.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:
A rumor has linked the Denver Broncos to the future acquisition of Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard…. It’s unclear whether the Packers are inclined to try to sign him to an extension that would replace his one-year, $3.986 million salary. It’s also unclear whether he’d even want one at this point. Some believe he intends to get through 2022, become an unrestricted free agent, and sign with the Broncos in 2023, where he would be reunited with former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
Allen Lazard currently has no contract. He is a restricted free agent. He’s breaking no rules nor incurring any potential fines if he stays away from offseason workouts, mandatory minicamp or otherwise. He also could, if he wants, hold out into training camp.
Lazard has been incredibly consistent:
While it may be a small sample size, Allen Lazard has been one of the most consistent wide receivers over the last few seasons:

Depending on what happens in 2022, seeing him leave to Denver would be brutal. While Nathaniel Hackett figures to be the biggest reason Lazard would want to leave Green Bay, playing with Russell Wilson wouldn’t be so bad either. While nothing seems imminent, this is certainly a situation to monitor going forward.

Who gives a shit if he wants to play for the Broncos in 2023? We’re not even to training camp of 2022 for crying out loud. Dude’s got zero leverage. He’s a great blocker for a receiver, that’s his only positive attribute, other than that he’s just a guy.
