The New York Jets have done everything to please quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and they are going to try again this offseason to trade for former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams. A source told ESPN that it’s a possibility that the Jets will try and trade for Adams once again this offseason.

Aaron Rodgers has only played four snaps this season for the Jets. He tore his Achilles in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, and Rodgers has been heavily rehabbing ever since that moment. New York is 4-6 on the year, and Aaron Rodgers is trying to get back this season, but the odds are it will more likely be in 2024 when he returns.
Outside of Garrett Wilson, the New York Jets don’t feature many playmakers on offense. Allen Lazard, a former Green Bay Packers wide receiver, has played this year but hasn’t performed well. Randall Cobb has also lost playtime.
If the Jets did land Adams this offseason via trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, it would change the offense entirely. He has caught 64 passes for 741 yards receiving and four touchdowns so far this season with Las Vegas. He is also averaging 11.6 yards per reception.
According to Spotrac, Adams has a tricky contract situation, and his contract isn’t set to expire until after the 2026 season.

It is interesting that Joe Douglass is the general manager for the New York Jets, but is quarterback Aaron Rodgers calling the shots behind the scenes? He was probably the one who wanted Nathaniel Hackett as his offensive coordinator despite being fired in his first season as head coach of the Denver Broncos during the 2022 season.
Zach Wilson has not played well since Rodgers got hurt. Wilson was benched in Sunday’s 32-6 loss against the Buffalo Bills. It was announced that Tim Boyle will start in place of him on Friday against the Miami Dolphins (7-3).
Another important thing is that Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams spent seven seasons together with the Green Bay Packers from 2014 to 2021. Adams was one of the best receivers in the NFL during his tenure and is still one of the top in the league.
The two best years they had together were in 2020 and in 2021. In 2020, Adams caught 115 passes for 1,374 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns. Those 18 touchdowns led the league that season. Davante Adams was targeted by Aaron Rodgers 149 times and also averaged 11.9 yards per reception in 14 games played.
The following season, in 2021, Adams caught 123 passes for 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns in 16 games played. He was targeted 169 times and averaged 12.6 yards per reception for that season. If the New York Jets were able to land Davante Adams via trade to reunite with former quarterback Aaron Rodgers this offseason, they would be dangerous because of how elite the defense is and how well wide receiver Garrett Wilson is as well. It would be Super Bowl or bust for them at that point.
